Burst! Renesas Electronics and NXP announce price increase notice
On November 30, Japanese semiconductor manufacturer Renesas Electronics (Renesas Electronics https://www2.renesas.cn/cn/zh) sent a product price increase notice to customers, the effective date of the price increase is January 1, 2021.
The notice stated that due to the increase in the cost of raw materials and packaging (substrate), Renesas Electronics intends to increase the prices of some analog and power products. Renesas Electronics also explained that the company is currently facing increased inventory, cost, and product transportation risks, causing the company to raise prices to ensure that these products can continue to be put into production.
In addition, the notice also stated that customer orders shipped before January 1, 2021 will be received at the current price. After January 1 next year, all existing orders and new orders will be processed at the new price.
With the arrival of the traditional peak sales season Q4, the number of terminal purchases is obviously increasing. Now the Renesas plant is basically overloaded, and the product delivery date has not yet eased. Since the beginning of 2020, the overall supply has been tight, and there have been frequent delays. The delivery period for orders is at least 16-20 weeks (some materials are scheduled to 30 weeks). The current shortage trend will continue until after Q1 next year.
